The Reith Lectures were inaugurated in 1948 by the BBC to mark the historic contribution made to public service broadcasting by Sir John (later Lord) Reith, the corporation’s first Director-General. For the last few years we’ve worked with award-winning Photographer Richard Ansett and supremely gifted creative Anna Lenihan to produce a series of portraits of the lecturers, some of which have gone on to be shown at the National Portrait Gallery in London and form part of their permanent collection.
